Why We Love Autumn
Behind the scenes at our Autumn photo shoot.
Strange things are happening to me these days, as I find myself constantly checking the status of the crops, the colours of the fields and and the direction of the sun at different times of the day.
While most sensible folk are enjoying the delights of the last days of Summer, I seem to be constantly searching for the onset of Autumn and signs of the changing landscape all around me.
I think I might just have to accept that this is what comes with running a seasonal business, where a typical working day involves thinking ahead and preparing for the new season that is approaching.
So it seems that this July and August has been filled with such activity as the girls at Cashmere & Cotton plan our Autumn marketing for the season ahead.
In answer to customer requests for more newness and a wider choice across our ranges of knitwear and shirts, this Autumn we have planned to bring in new styles and colours every 6 to 8 weeks, so thinking ahead is key. Photography shoots for both web pages and brochures are a key element and the starting point in the presentation of the new collections.
Cornfields, country lanes, forests and fun in the country were the backdrop for our early Autumn collection and so, armed with the newest cashmere layers in shades of ginger, nutella, pea green and chinchilla and surrounded by the countryside we know and love here in Cheshire, we set out to capture the spirit of the season.
Such fun and laughter in the cornfields, with pitchforks and wheel barrows whilst avoiding flattening the crops. Finding the best light amongst the growth of the forest. Planning the route through the trees with maps and binoculars whilst pulling behind us trolleys of outfit changes, make up and props. And of course the dogs, Billy and Etta, our trusted companions came too!
What joy we had in the country with an all female team of positive, talented and enthusiastic women.

Our next new drop arrives mid October and will be shot amongst coastal outcrops and the rugged shoreline of North Wales. We are already planning to capture new looks of gentle heathery shades in more layers of textural knits and new styles to take us into the cooler Winter months ahead.
