Our Autumn Photoshoot
The Cashmere & Cotton brand is all about timeless, quality clothing and dressing with comfort, luxury and cosiness in mind. Our ranges are not about fast fashion, the latest trends or complicated outfit combinations, but are about feeling relaxed and comfortable in colours and textures that match our mood and our lifestyle. We appreciate only natural and sustainable fibres that are ethically sourced and we care about the world around us.
The girls that make up our wonderful team, all live and work in a beautiful rural setting where the pace of life is slow and the quality of the air is sweet. Our aim is to live a calm and joyful life, surrounded by people, places and experiences we love... . We are about walking in the countryside with the dogs, home cooking, a good book and making our home and gardens a welcoming and happy place for family and friends.
So we are leaving the summer of 2020 behind us and moving towards an Autumn of hope and optimism and joy.
Coming back together to shoot the Autumn range in the beautiful Cheshire countryside that surrounds us, was an absolute joy. We didn't need to venture far to experience the changing season in all its glory.
So on two fine days in September, we worked, in a very safe and organised manner to show you what Autumn means to us.... Shooting under big skies and undulating countryside, golden wheat fields of ripened crops just before cutting, loosing ourselves in the tall spires of the maize fields and walking the footpaths of rural Cheshire in wellies and waterproofs carrying our precious cashmere on our backs!
We don't have creative directors or a team of fashion stylists, we just create ranges that we love to wear ourselves, clothing for real people and real situations made from the very finest cashmere yarns, made with care and love and made to last!
Our styles for Autumn embrace the spirit of the countryside, with an emphasis on flexibility and layering to suit colder days with our Cashmere Scarves, Wraps and Shearling Coats, plus everyday classics in a wide choice of colours. So whether you prefer muted neutrals in chunky textures, or lighter soft cosy pastels for days at home or have an altogether brighter and bolder perspective on life, we have it covered. From our new paintbox colours of Ocean Blue and Tomato Red, through to our ever popular Chinchilla and the return of Taupe, this season's range really does give more colour choice than ever.
We enlisted the talents of TV media photographer James Stack for our location shoot. His skill of producing atmospheric scenes in changing natural light were exactly what we wanted to achieve.
Choosing our models, Annabelle for her relaxed English Rose looks and Deborah for her homely and welcoming smile, she really is the type of girl you feel instantly comfortable around. Phoebe and Rose worked their magic creating gentle, informal styling for hair teamed with natural daytime looks for the make up.
Bridget, used the opportunity to scour the hedgerows for food (forraging is one of her favourite pastimes) and together Hattie, Chris and I, carried, dressed, styled and accessorised to create looks that we think you will love, taking over a small area of Cheshire countryside (plus Shelley's studio, house and outbuildings) to bring to you, our idea of Autumn.
